Are you looking for great restaurants in Hamburg? Hamburg is always worth a visit – if not only for the large selection of restaurants, bars and cafes. Hamburg offers lots of atmosphere and there is always a party going on in many small oases in the city.

Along the harbor, especially from the Submarine Museum and to the Fischmarkt, there are many nice, but expensive restaurants, including the Fischereihafen Restaurant. Still, you don’t need to eat expensive to eat well! Here you get the best recommendations for both finer and low-budget restaurants, where you’ll get a good meal.

OLD HELGOLÄNDER FISCHERSTUBE

If you are looking for a finer restaurant in Hamburg with typical North German specialties and lots of fish, then Alt Helgoländer Fischerstube, close to the Fischmarkt, can be recommended. In the decorations with both a fishing house and other maritime decoration, freshly caught fish, fresh seafood and really good wine are served. Remember to book a table.

If you are more into a big steak, [m] eatery in the inner city can be recommended. The party is great and the atmosphere slightly chaotic, but the steaks are well done! Here you can get a juicy T-Bone steak, and if you are into Surf n ‘Turf, then it is also on the menu. Also try one of the many great cocktails before, during or / and after the meal. TRATTORIA PALERMO

Sometimes you’re only in the mood for a pizza – and sometimes you will find good food in the most unexpected places. As you pass the small, Italian Trattoria Palermo in the back alleys to Reeperbahn, you will be lured in by the most seductive scent. Take a seat at one of the small tables, of course lined with red checkered tablecloths.

Even though you may already have a lot of pizza on previous trips to Italy, you will probably agree that the pizza here is also something to write home about!

SCHWEINSKE ST. PAULI

Schweinske serves… yes, you can almost guess it: Lots of pork! The place is kitch, it’s fun, and it’s almost never closed. It is by no means a gourmet restaurant, but you should visit Schweinske for the good atmosphere and the light café dishes. After a night out in Hamburg, you may also need a large breakfast, and Schweinske is ready to serve you that. With its location at the end of the Reeperbahn, there are of course also lots of cocktails on the menu.

MIO – FOR SPAGHETTI ICE CREAM

Where Jungfernsteig meets the lake Binnenalster, you will find several cafes where you can relax and enjoy the view. Here, MIO should be recommended, for serving fun ice cream desserts, shaped like Spaghetti Bolognese or Carbonara, Pizza, Lasagne – or what about an Omelet? The café also serves breakfast and cocktails.
