PACKING LIST FOR A CITY BREAK

Are you going to London, Paris or Barcelona? Are you wondering if you remembered to pack everything? Or are you having a hard time finding space for it all? Here you get a packing list with the most necessary things for the weekend break or a city holiday.

HOW TO PREPARE FOR YOUR VACATION

Start by checking the weather forecast: Will it be cold or hot, rainy or sunny? Have you booked a city beach holiday or are you going sightseeing in the autumn in Berlin? A beach holiday requires pretty just a bikini and then a smart dress for tonight’s party. On the other hand, bad weather calls for layered clothing, where you can easily regulate the temperature depending on whether you are outside or have found the perfect department store where you can go shopping for hours.

At most low cost airlines you can bring a small handbag plus a suitcase without checking it in. Still, you have to think about the fact that you have to transport the suitcase most of the way yourself. Both to and from the airport, you must be able to lift your suitcase in and out of busses or taxis.

If you are allowed to bring your hand luggage on the plane, it is advisable to pack a small cabin suitcase, because it saves a lot of time where you do not have to wait for your luggage. Then you can just go straight from the plane and start on your vacation. The bag you take with you for your hand luggage should be a practical one that you can also carry around when sightseeing. It’s advisable to bring a backpack that is not too big and heavy.

SUITCASE

Planning is a good thing when packing your suitcase for a city break. You often bring too much with you – and a good rule of thumb is to pack only half of what you think you need.
