Where to go shopping i Alicante

If you are going shopping in Alicante, do bring your largest shopping bag! In the city you will find many of the big, international chains and also lots of beautiful dresses and shoes from local designers.

The best shopping streets in Alicante

In the largest shopping street Avenida Maisonnave you will find the big chain stores: Zara, Intermissimi, Mango and Stradivarius. It’s also here you will find the department store El Corte Inglés, on two different locations. The first, at Avenida Federico Soto, sells, among other things, electronics and home furnishings, while in the second you will find clothes, perfume and a large gourmet supermarket.

In the area from Avenida Maisonnave and down towards the harbor, there are also many small streets where you can find local crafts, shoes and clothes. Calle San Francisco, also known as Toadstool Street, also has many fine shops.

Shopping malls and shopping centers in Alicante

If you can’t get enough shopping, there are also two major shopping malls in Alicante, Gran Via and Plaza Mar 2, both in the northern part of the city. Here you will find all the well-known brands: H&M, Levi’s, Massimo Dutti, Bershka, Mango, Zara and Tommy Hilfiger.

Opening hours in Alicante

Many shops are open until 20-21, with a siesta in the middle of the day. Then the store are closed from 1 or 2 pm until late afternoon, 5 or 6 pm. On Saturday the shops are closed in the evening, and most stores, except the larger ones, are closed on Sundays.

What to buy in Alicante?

Clothes, clothes and more clothes – and then a pair of shoes! The Spanish women love to dress beautifully and you will find many shops with party dresses, wedding dresses and everyday clothes. It’s worth saving up from home and buy your summer wardrobe in Alicante.

Note that it is difficult to find clothes in sizes above a normal small and medium, but the city fortunately also houses many shoe stores, where you will find the most beautiful shoes and sandals.

If you are a family or a group of friends who want a little more space on your holiday, there are many apartments in Alicante.
