Casa de Campo

Casa de Campo, where the photo at the top is from, is the former royal hunting area and covers 1,750 hectares. Go by the cable car, Teleferico de Madrid, to the heart of Casa de Campo. On the journey you can enjoy the beautiful view over Madrid. When you get up to the park, there is a small playground and a vantage point.

In the Casa de Campo you can also visit the amusement park Parque de Atracciones de Madrid or Madrid Zoo, Zoo Aquarium de Madrid.

Palacio Real de Madrid

The Palacio Real de Madrid is the official residence of the Spanish royal family. However, they do not live here, but at the smaller Palacio de la Zarzuela. The Royal Palace is one of the biggest tourist attractions in Madrid. Only a few of the more than 3,000 rooms are open to the public. Instead, you can see the large collection of weapons and visit the huge royal kitchen from the 19th century. Buen Retiro Park

The large Parque del Buen Retiro is a 10-minute walk from the Prado Museum. It is one of the largest gardens in Madrid, and the park originally belonged to the Spanish royal family. Today, the park is open to the public. The locals jog, bike and sail on the lake in front of the monument to Alfonso XII. Also visit the Crystal Palace, inspired by the Crystal Palace in London and try to count how many glass panes there are.
