HOW TO AVOID ABRASIONS ON THE THIGHS

A thigh rash is something that a lot of women are dealing with. Unfortunately, the summer, uncovered legs and the warm rays of the sun are also inextricably linked to skin abrasions on the inner thighs. As soon as the temperature rises and we put on a skirt or dress, the problem is there.

Chafing occur when the sweaty thighs rub against each other. And it is not only women with large, round thighs who are plagued by abrasions, because even thin girls can have inner thighs that collide with each other. So all women are welcome to read along here where you get a lot of great tips to avoid abrasions.

WHY DO YOU GET ABRASIONS?

Chafing occur, as said, when the thin skin on the inner thighs gets irritated. Many of us also like to have smooth summer legs, so the area is often filled with small, prickly hairs that tear at the skin. On top of that, bacteria can infect the area and make the problem even worse.

5 TIPS TO AVOID ABRASIONS

If you love to wear a dress and skirt in the summer, here are some tips so you can get rid of sweaty thighs and subsequent abrasions. There are lots of solutions out there, and here are some of them:

1. WEAR INNER SHORTS

The very best solution is to prevent the thighs from rubbing against each other at all. You do this with a pair of cycling shorts or inner shorts. Be sure to choose a model that covers the area of the thighs.

2. TIGHTS + SCISSORS

If you have gome on holiday without a pair of inner shorts, then a pair of tights can be a great substitute. Buy a pair of tights in a sturdy quality and cut them off just above the knee. They will roll up a bit, but you can partially avoid that if you buy a size larger than usual.

3. CHAFING CREAM

If it’s really hot, or you do not want to walk around the beach wearing bloomers, you can also buy a cream that relieves irritated skin. Try searching for “chafing cream”, “anti chafing cream” “bikers cream” and “thigh rash care”.

4. THE QUICK SOLUTION

If you can’t find a chafing cream, you still probably already have a really good remedy. Based on the idea that a deodorant works against sweat under the arms, it actually also will work on your sweaty inner thighs! Just spray or apply your deodorant to the vulnerable the area. Remember to take your deodorant with you in the bag so you can get a new layer on when it is worn away.

5. TALK POWDER & ZINC OXIDE

It works for babies against a diaper rash – and it will work for you too! Based on the same principle as with your deodorant, talc powder and zinc oxide create a barrier on the skin and prevent the thighs from rubbing against each other. Only minus is that you get white thighs – and that you also have to apply a new layer more than once during the day.
