ATTRACTIONS IN HAMBURG

Hamburg has a lot to offer, and in addition to the exciting sights you will find here, you can plan your trip to: Hamburg Travel. But among the attractions in Hamburg that you just have to see, there are:

ST. NIKOLAI CHURCH

When walking around today’s vibrant and colorful Hamburg, it’s hard to imagine that much of the city was one big ruin right after World War II. Take the elevator up to the church tower at Mahnmal St. Nikolai, where the fantastic view can be enjoyed – and compared with the photos of the ruined city. In the crypt under the church, there is also a museum about World War II with changing exhibitions.

MINIATURE WUNDERLAND

One of the most popular attractions in Hamburg is the Miniature Wunderland. And it’s not just for children, because the miniature museum can also easily make any adult smile. The museum is housed in one of the old warehouses in Hamburg’s Speicherstadt and is the largest digitally controlled model railway in the world. Take a trip to the German Alps or to the Wild West. Here the trains run around in fantastic landscapes of cars, ferries, small people and light signals that you can turn on and off yourself.

CHOCOVERSUM

Hamburg’s Chocolate Museum, Chocoversum, is a paradise for chocolate lovers. Here you can make your own chocolate and take a guided tour through the museum. See how the chocolate is produced from cocoa bean to finished chocolate and get a souvenir in the chocolate shop.

HARBOR TOUR

A harbor tour among the large container ships is also a great experience. We suggest you book a trip on the paddle driven steamboat Mississippi Queen from Landungsbrücken. Here you can sit in the large salon and enjoy a meal or drinks, while getting a tour of the second largest port city in Europe.

REEPERBAHN

You also have to visit the legendary street of sin. The street completely lives up to its reputation, because between the lively bars, discos and casinos you will also find sex shops and strip bars. The area also offers numerous rockabilly shops and vintage shops. In short, something for everyone – and always a party!

Also visit the Elbe tunnel from 1911. The tunnel is located right by the Landungsbrücken and crosses to the opposite river bank. Notice the elevators that hoisted the cars 24 feet down and up again.
