Also, take your time to stroll around and explore the small shops around the Latin Quarter in the city center – or use the guide here!

BEST SHOPPING STREETS IN AARHUS

If you are going shopping in Aarhus, you will probably want to know where to find all the good shops. Here you get a lot of good tips for the best shopping streets:

Strøget in Aarhus stretches over several shopping streets, just waiting to give you good shopping experiences. Start at the Central Train Station and walk up Ryesgade. From Ryesgade you now pass the road to Søndergade, where you can enter the department store, Salling. Once you have crossed the water, the road ends at Store Torv.

Here you can either continue out into the small, cobbled streets in the Latin Quarter, where you will find many small and larger shops. Finally, also take a detour to Guldsmedgade with all the great shops. From Guldsmedgade you can walk back towards Lille Torv, which is adjacent to Store Torv. Here you will find Magasin – and a lot of nice cafes by the river that call for a break.

From the river you can continue the shopping trip up Frederiksgade, which in addition to shops also offers many bars and restaurants. The trip ends at the City Hall, where you can take bus 1A up to Tordenskjoldsgade at Trøjborg. Trøjborg is a cozy neighborhood with many smaller shops and lots of cafes and restaurants.

Would you rather continue to stroll around the city center, then head back towards Central Station. Behind Bruuns Galleri is the trendy district Frederiksbjerg, where you can explore the hip shops. This is also where you can taste the latest trends in cocktails, food and wine.

SHOPPING MALLS IN AARHUS

If it’s raining when you go shopping in Aarhus, it is nice to know that you have plenty of opportunities to do your shopping inside a mall. If you arrive by train, you are actually already inside the large shopping mecca, Bruuns Galleri, which in addition to shops and restaurants also contains a cinema. As in other major cities, you will also find Magasin, but real Aarhusians shop in the local Salling !

Where Ringgaden meets Paldudan-Müllers Vej, you will find Storcenter Nord , which has all the well-known highstreet stores and 1000 free parking spaces. Bazar West in the suburb of Brabrand is a great experience for both children and adults. Here you can buy princess dresses, fun waterfall alarm clocks and good and cheap food from all over the world. City West, a 10-minute walk away, offers both chain stores and nice shops.
