WHERE TO GO SHOPPING IN HAMBURG
Are you going shopping in Hamburg? Hamburg is always worth a visit – if only for the large selection of shops. Hamburg offers lots of atmosphere, and there is always something new to see in the main shopping street, Mönckebergstrasse. However, the city has many small shopping oases and large shopping malls where you can find exactly what you have always dreamed of.
Take time to walk around and enjoy the city’s many shops – or use the guide here!
WHERE TO SHOP IN HAMBURG?
Start your shopping trip on Mönckebergstrasse, which is the largest shopping street in Hamburg. Here you will find an impressive selection of high street stores, department stores, and also cafes and restaurants for when you just need a break from shopping.
If you are looking for small and trendy shops, then head up to the Sternschanze district. In the triangle between the streets Schulterblatt, Schanzenstrasse and Susannenstrasse you will find many hip clothing stores with alternative brands and vintage fashion. As darkness falls, the streets are filled with young people, on their way to a fun evening in the area with the many cafes and bars.
In the neighborhood of St. Pauli, which houses the famous Reeperbahn street, you can find many small vintage and rockabilly shops located side by side with numerous sex shops. If you are looking for a naughty souvenir, then visit Boutique Bizarre. The erotic boutique is decorated like any other department store, just with erotic items on the shelves.
Also visit the legendary Fischmarkt St. Pauli, where every Sunday morning you can buy not just fish, but everything your heart desires from antiques, food, souvenirs, books, hats and sunglasses. End the visit with a lunch in the Altonaer Fischauktionshalle, where on the ground floor you will find small stalls with the local specialty: fish sandwiches.
SHOPPING CENTERS IN HAMBURG
In Hamburg you will also find many large shopping malls, with Europa Passage as the largest. If the impressive architecture does not sweep the legs away beneath you, the large selection will probably do it!
If you are traveling to Denmark by car, also visit the giant designer outlet in Neumönster. Here you will find all the major brands, but in last year’s color, and therefore at a considerably reduced price.
